Periodic Lane Closures for Paving: May 8-12

Post Date:05/08/2017 4:39 PM

The following streets within the City of Melbourne are scheduled to be resurfaced May 8-12, 2017:

  • Ashwood Dr.
  • E. University Blvd.
  • Glenwood Dr.
  • Stewart Rd. (Parkway Dr. to Lake Washington Rd.)

The City’s contractor, VA Paving, Inc., will be starting work on May 8, 2017. Paving and milling will occur between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. There will be periodic lane closures and detours. An Engineering Inspector will be on site during paving operations to minimize any disruptions.

During this time, please refrain from parking on the street during daylight hours. At the discretion of the Inspector, vehicles left unattended on the street may be towed. Every attempt will be made to contact vehicle owners prior to this occurring. As soon as the asphalt is placed, you may resume normal activities.

The only time access to your home will be blocked is during the time that the contractor is working directly in front of your home. If you should need to leave/enter your home while the contractor is working in front of your home, you may be asked to wait a few minutes until the crew has moved past your driveway. This delay should not last more than a few minutes. We apologize for this delay, and the City Inspector and the contractor will work with you to help mitigate this delay.

All cleanup should be completed within 48 hours of asphalt placement. As always, your patience is appreciated.

In the event of weather or mechanical delays not all of these streets may be paved during the week of May 8. If your street does not get paved duiring this week, you will be notified again when the contractor will be back to complete the work in your neighborhood.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Dani Straub at 321-608-7312.
